Careers guidance at Cranleigh is a core tenet of our Sixth Form experience. We strive to ensure pupils view their university and career options from many perspectives and that they are equipped with the competencies, confidence and character to make the most of their future.
One of the pillars of our careers programme focuses on meaningful work experience. We set great store by the belief that it is of more value for students to consistently engage in a workplace, actively involved in real professional routines, than to only partake in a one or two-week snapshot. It is the continuity of our work experience model that leads to tangible gains.
To that end, all students in Year 12 are expected to do a minimum of two hours a week of work experience, for 20 weeks. The model is individually tailored to pupils, reflecting their university and ultimate career aspirations, and is completely unique in the Abu Dhabi secondary education landscape.

In the academic year 2017-18, students worked at twofour54˚, Saab Group, Manchester City FC, ENGSOL Group, Cleary Gottlieb, Brands and Beyond, New York University Abu Dhabi and at the innovative growth focused tech investment fund, Digital Spring Ventures. These companies have one thing in common: they all care about the pathway of future generations and have invested time and resource into designing internships that allow pupils to engage fully in the workplace, completing tasks of value that have real impact.
We are extremely grateful to all of our partnership organisations for the opportunities they provide.
