Alongside our broad and varied curriculum, we provide a rich after-school programme in Pre-Prep that supports pupils’ all-round development. We believe that developing an early appreciation and enjoyment of a range of skills or hobbies can bring lifelong enrichment and personal development. Activities are run each day by either the Pre-Prep staff or external organisations.
In addition to physical development and the exploration of interests, pupils learn the thrill of challenge and competition, the importance of concentration, the spirit of teamwork and a sense of accomplishment. The activities help to develop social skills and confidence. There are also positive emotional and physical health benefits for children involved in sports activities.
Activities run from 2:45 pm-3:30 pm and are for FS1-Year 2 pupils as a ‘bridge’ between the Pre-Prep school finishing at 2:30 pm and Years 3 and 4 optional finish at 3:30 pm. Most pupils stay for an average of one or two activities per week. There are no CCAs for FS1 as we believe that the day is long enough for children already for their age.
The children can choose from a wide selection of opportunities after the school day enabling them to have fun whilst developing their own interests. We continually review our range of options to ensure that we offer the best selection for the children.
