Dance is a universal language with a powerful ability to communicate feelings, thoughts, values and personalities.  At Cranleigh, every pupil brings something different to the Dance Studio, which helps create pieces which are not only aesthetically exciting but also embody the dancers background, beliefs and cultural values.

As with all of The Arts, dance can be explored through many avenues and channels. To study The Arts, you have to learn to take risks, push yourself emotionally, expressively and creatively, and always persevere.

Most importantly however, dance at Cranleigh ensures that pupils are always at  the centre of what it does. By celebrating individuality and diversity we encourage school- wide inclusivity and cultural accessibility.

Every pupil has the opportunity to participate both in performing and choreographing dance and it is popular among both boys and girls as an academic subject (see the Academic section), a sport and an after school activity.
