Initial Teacher Training at Cranleigh Abu Dhabi
Cranleigh Abu Dhabi has an emerging reputation as a leading contributor to initial teacher training in the city. Over the past three years, strong links have been formed with the University of Buckingham which has afforded several teachers the opportunity to obtain a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). As we look ahead to the next academic year we would like to offer this opportunity to the wider community across Abu Dhabi.
The decision to welcome trainee teachers has been a considered one. We are committed to continually improving and nurturing new teachers into the profession and also recognise that the introduction of fresh perspectives into our existing academic community brings with it a host of advantages. Having trainee teachers within a school directly challenges complacency and forces everyone to reflect, ultimately contributing to a strong and purposeful learning environment for our students.
The benefits of training at Cranleigh Abu Dhabi are numerous. We have a wealth of teaching experience across all areas of the school. The school day is rich with extracurricular activities and opportunities to get involved outside of the classroom. Although we offer a British curriculum, we are very much an international school and we embody the concept of an international community. We offer the opportunity to progress into a career in teaching in a challenging, reflective and supportive environment. We very much welcome interest from suitably qualified individuals and hope we can help fulfil your ambition to become a teaching professional.
“Completing my PGCE was by no means a walk in the park, but it was totally worth it! The support offered by my mentor and colleagues gave me the encouragement, constructive feedback and manageable targets I needed to successfully complete the course.
The course is classroom focused and equips you with the skills needed to support students on their learning journeys.
With a recognisable qualification, I now have a career which offers flexibility and great opportunities.”
