At Cranleigh Abu Dhabi wellbeing is an evolving journey and one that we truly believe is part of our culture and will continue to grow and flourish just as the children do under our care.
We all need to focus on our wellbeing to ultimately flourish and succeed into adulthood and beyond. Maintaining a healthy balance is crucial for a successful and fulfilling educational journey. We are aware that academic attainment and accolade, meaningful participation in enriching co-curricular activities and holistic development of the whole child is dependent on wellbeing structures and pathways at school.
Wellbeing should be a way of life. It is practised, nurtured and used throughout the personal and academic journey of each child to ensure added value for all. Pupils, staff and parental wellbeing depend on a strong, values-based culture at the heart of the school. Wellbeing at Cranleigh is not regarded as an initiative; it is part of the school DNA and the responsibility of all.
To embed a culture of wellbeing to provide the three stakeholders (staff, pupils and parents) with a platform to ensure the holistic development of each child. Creating a wellbeing culture involves the whole school community. Everyone needs to have a belief that inclusion and wellbeing are just as important as academic studies and one cannot succeed without the other.
Driven by a desire to be strategic and sustainable, Cranleigh reviews our whole-school wellbeing strategy annually. Parents, pupils and teaching staff are involved in this process to achieve the most robust and informed future strategy. We have structured the school leadership and approach, to facilitate a bottom-up flow. Common understanding of emotional wellbeing and mental awareness of all three stakeholders are utilised as a gear stick for change.
All values are woven into the strategic vision, mission, motto and behavioural structure of the school. We host dedicated days to kindness, mental health, mindfulness and focusing on wellbeing for the environment and outreach which supports our wellbeing two-fold.
